CGC were engaged to undertake a Slope Risk Assessment of the cliffs at Point Cartwright in the vicinity of the lighthouse that stands at the top of a rock outcrop.

A temporary crane platform was required at the crest of the 25m high cliffs to facilitate planned maintenance and replacement of the RADAR installation on top of the lighthouse.

Due to the proximity of the crane to the crest of the cliff, a slope risk assessment was required to determine the risk of slope instability as a result of lifting operations.

A combination of traditional slope mapping techniques and cutting edge digital mapping techniques were undertaken to produce a comprehensive risk assessment profile for our client.
